Episode 4: 5 Successful Traits of Entrepreneurs with Jeffrey Feldberg & Stephen Wells
This podcast is the first in a series of round table podcasts where we focus on a specific topic. The topic we covered in this episode was "What are 5 Successful Traits of Entrepreneurs?" We had Jeffrey Feldberg, and Stephen Wells who are both lifelong entrepreneurs share their stories as business owners and provide their knowledge for this round table podcast...
Jeffrey Feldberg and Stephen Wells have over two decades of entrepreneurial experience. They founded, built and sold an e-learning company called Embanet years back. Today, they are helping business owners with their businesses and entrepreneurs maximize their potential. Jeffrey's motto is 'Your Success. My Obsession' which is his driving force in assisting entrepreneurs to change the world.
These two gentlemen bring an incredible amount of knowledge, advice, and know-how from all of their years of being entrepreneurs. One of the highlights that stood out to me was when I asked them 'When did you both know they you would become entrepreneurs'? They both knew at a young age. For Jeffrey, he knew he couldn't work for anyone. He came from a family of entrepreneurs and knew he had to work on his own terms. For Steve, it started in 5th grade where he would go to 7-Eleven and buy candy to sell in school. Unknowingly, he got his first taste on how regulatory rules and distribution can impact a business due to his teachers not too fond of him selling candy to other students. Although his candy business did not prosper, he learned early on that he would go into business himself. I believe there are critical moments in life usually while you are young, that plants those initial seeds of becoming an entrepreneur. They may be buried in your past, but when you start looking back on how it all started, you will probably realize you have always been an entrepreneur.

Our roundtable discussion covered the topic "What are 5 Successful Traits of Entrepreneurs?". They mentioned these 5 traits plus 2 bonus traits:
TRAIT 1: GRIT
TRAIT 2: PASSION
TRAIT 3: GOING THE EXTRA MILE & EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN
TRAIT 4: BEING CURIOUS
TRAIT 5: ALWAYS BE LEARNING
We also talked about traveling and how it impacts your appreciation of life and their cigar company Corban Cigars which is a membership cigar company. The story behind the cigar company is an adventure in its own right. They said they had this wild dream of having their own cigar label and then found themselves standing in the fields of Nicaragua to make it happen. This is what real entrepreneurs are, having a dream and being a doer.
